What We Believe

HOLY SCRIPTURES

We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments (66 books) as verbally inspired of God and inerrant in original writings. We believe that this inspiration extends equally and fully to all parts of the Scriptures and that they are the supreme and ultimate authority in faith and life. (John 5:39; 17:8, 26; 2 Timothy 3:16,17; 2 Peter 1:21)

GODHEAD

We believe in the One and the Only True God who is eternally existing as three Persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, each having precisely the same nature, attributes, and perfections, and worthy of same worship and obedience. (Matthew 28:19-20; John 1:1-4)

JESUS CHRIST – HIS PERSON

We believe that Jesus Christ is True God and True Man (or fully God and fully Man) at the same time. He was eternally begotten of the Father, conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. We believe that Jesus Christ is impeccable, unchanging, the Creator of all things, and must have supremacy in everything. (Colossians 1:16-17; Hebrews 4:15)

JESUS CHRIST – HIS WORK

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins as a substitutionary sacrifice, propitiated for our sins, that His crucified body was raised from the dead in a glorious state and that He ascended into heaven to appear before the Father as our High Priest, Advocate and Mediator. We also believe that Christ Jesus is coming again for His church. Our Lord, come! (1 Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 2:17; 1 Peter 1:18-20; 1 Corinthians 15:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 16:18)

HOLY SPIRIT

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the absolute Person and God, performing actions and possessing the attributes of deity. We believe that He took up His abode in the world in a special sense on the day of Pentecost, dwells in every believer, and His baptism unites all Christians in one Body, the Church universal. In this age, the Holy Spirit carries out the ministries of restraining evil in the world, convicting people of sin, righteousness and judgment, regenerating His people, indwelling and anointing all Christians and sealing them unto the day of redemption, baptizing into one body of Christ all who are saved and filling each yielded believer for the power and service. (John 14:16-17; 16:7-15; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 6:19; Ephesians 2:22; 2 Thessalonians 2:7)

FALL

We believe that Adam and Eve were created in the image of God, that by voluntary transgression fell in sin and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God. Adam’s disobedience caused sin to enter the world, and from him, the hereditary fallen nature and moral corruption are passed down to his descendants. Because of the fallen state of all mankind, there is none good and righteous. (Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:10-12; 5:12-19; Isaiah 64:6)

SALVATION

We believe that the work of salvation was accomplished by Christ Jesus who shed His blood upon the cross, and that nothing on the part of man can avail for salvation. All are sinners and that no one can reach heaven or attain salvation by good works. We believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, and that the truly saved ones will bear holy fruits of salvation. (John 1:12; 3:16; 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 3:12,23; 8:29-30; Ephesians 2:8-9; 2 Peter 1:3-11).

ETERNITY

We believe that man is born in flesh only once and dies once and then faces judgment and eternity. We reject the notion of pre-birth, re-birth, purgatory, and universal salvation. We believe in the reality of heaven and hell. (Hebrews 9:27; Daniel 12:2-3; Hebrews 10:34; Revelation 20:15)

SIN

We believe the sober teachings of the Holy Scriptures on the destructive nature of sin. If unrepentant, the Holy Bible explicitly teaches that – “the sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, male prostitutes, homosexual offenders, impure, thieves, greedy, drunkards, slanderers, swindlers, the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, those who practice magic arts, the liars, the envious, the aggressors will not inherit the kingdom of God.” (1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Revelation 21:8; Galatians 5:19-21; Ephesians 5:5)

CHURCH

We believe that the church is composed of all such persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the Body of Christ as a family of God. Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church and that every member in the local church is called to actively function for the edification of the Body of Christ and effectively witness for the salvation of the lost. (Eph. 2:19-20; Eph. 4:16; Mark 16:15-16)
